Customer Reviews

It's not amazing, but then again neither are the other Daft Punk remix albums.

Tron Legacy was obviously a big step for the electronic duo that is Daft Punk and they did a great job at writing a film score. The score suited the film perfectly and they did exactly what was needed of them. However if you are a big Daft Punk fan, like me, then you might have found yourself wanting more of a house record rather than a mainly orchestral film score. So Disney tried to make that happen. This remix album is actually pretty good and so much better in comparison to Daft Club and Human After All: Remixes. The list of remixers is a bit questionable yes, but overall there are more good remixes than bad (which can't be said for Daft Club and HAA Remixes). So I'm just going to talk about the good rather than complain about the bad.
The first two remixes on the album, The Glitch Mob's remix of Derezzed and M83 vs Big Black Delta's remix of Fall are both great remixes. The remix of Fall probably being my favourite on the album. At first I was skeptical however after giving it a full listen, I find myself loving The Teddybears remix of Adagio For Tron and it took a whole new look on the piece. Boys Noize's remix was of course going to brilliant and it most certainly is. Photek's remix of End Of The Line is surprisingly good as well. Aviici's remix (if you can call it that) of Derezzed sounds nothing like Derezzed but rather an original track but this still doesn't stop it from being a good track. Pretty Lights' remix of Solar Sailer is absolutely fantastic and gives the track an almost dubstep feel to it.
Overall I'm pretty happy with this remix album, very few downsides and an actual Daft Punk remix album that I would happily listen to.

Terrible on every level

The music for tron was good, let's face it, it lacked the electro grooviness or danceability of the Rubber soundtrack, but it serves it's purpose as an above average action movie soundtrack.

But action movie soundtracks don't make good remixes! So, even though there are some class people involved with this album, they don't have much good material to work with to make a good dance soundtrack.

A lot of the remixes don't live up to a good standard and in addition to this a better remix by GOOSE was left off

TЯULY ∆M∆ZING!!

Daft Punk has done it again, with this electro orchestra masterpiece all chopped and mixed into one sizzling album! I still get goosebumps listening to this (that's how amazing it is!!) D∆FT PUNK IS HERE 2 ST∆Y, WELCOME 2 THE GЯID!!

Biography

Formed: 1992 in Paris, France

Genre: Dance

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

In similar company with new-school French progressive dance artists such as Motorbass, Air, Cassius, and Dimitri from Paris, Parisian duo Daft Punk quickly rose to acclaim by adapting a love for first-wave acid house and techno to their younger roots in pop, indie rock, and hip-hop. The combined talents of DJs Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, the pair's first projects together included Darling, a voiceless indie cover band; their current recording name derives from a review in U.K....
