Daft Punk dance this is not

Some tracks are beautiful to listen too given the fact that Daft Punk had a real orchestra to add deep depth to this album. If your expecting dance tracks and an album full of tracks like Derezzed your going to be disappointed. The other tracks won't suddenly turn in to Derezzed later (past the preview 30 seconds) If your looking to see what the Duo can do given new resources and a remit to produce a stunning soundtrack then some of the tracks will probably be interesting. This after all is a soundtrack (a good one at that) but its not and never was going to be the next album in the series. As a stand alone album made by a duo i enjoy listening too i like some of it. will i listen to it daily? i doubt it. but i will be selecting out tracks to play when my mood takes me. particularly the ones over 3 minutes and Derezzed. Choose with caution and with care and with an open mind, don't jump at this just because you like Daft Punk or you could well be disappointed.

Attention Imbeciles.

Yes, this is a soundtrack/score to a film. Those claiming this is not 'true' Daft Punk' can pipe down. This is a perfect fusion of their trademark electronic style with classical orchestral elements that are essential to any motion picture soundtrack. Of course it's not all going to be upbeat, it's intended for a film, not every scene is going to benefit from pumping bass and synthetic melodies. What this is, is the most appropriate collaboration of motion picture and leading electronic duo. This is something rare and wonderful, and only reinforces Daft Punk's status as true musicians capable of placing their stamp well and truly upon anything they create. In all honesty, I do think you have to be quite a narrow-minded person to give this a one star review. If it is not what you were 'expecting' then perhaps you should have listened to some of the previews or even noted that the genre of this album is 'Soundtrack' before downloading/purchasing. I have been a big fan of Daft Punk for a few years now and only developed an interest in the film, about two years ago, after discovering they were rumoured to be composing the score. Since then I have waited eagerly to hear what they were able to achieve when placed somewhat out of their comfort zone, and it was definitely worth the wait. This soundtrack deserves credibility among some of the most successful, purely traditional, soundtracks of all time. It works beautifully with the film, whilst standing out in it's own right as an album. I saw Tron: Legacy on the 17th December at the BFI IMAX cinema in London and was blown away by stunning visuals and auditory delights throughout, even if the story was a little flat, this is a must see for any true fan of: 3D cinematics, the original Tron film, or lastly, and most importantly, Daft Punk.

Nice one

Was looking forward to this album for a long time. Did it deliver. Hell yes it did. Dirty electrics and soaring synths. Daft Punk did good.

In similar company with new-school French progressive dance artists such as Motorbass, Air, Cassius, and Dimitri from Paris, Parisian duo Daft Punk quickly rose to acclaim by adapting a love for first-wave acid house and techno to their younger roots in pop, indie rock, and hip-hop. The combined talents of DJs Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, the pair's first projects together included Darling, a voiceless indie cover band; their current recording name derives from a review in U.K....
