My new favourite band

I've been into music for years and only three bands have released albums that I can enjoy and sound fresh with every play over the last decade. Oasis - Definitely Maybe, The Libertines - Up The Bracket, and Dogs - Turn Against This Land. I cannot award a higher accolade than that, this album is AMAZING from the opening riff of 'London Bridge' through the anthemic 'Donkey' and 'Tarred and Feathered' to the melancholy of the title track. Turn this up full belt whilst getting ready to go out to your favourite indie club and you'll hit the ground running, exceptional.

If all dogs were like this...

The Dogs are supporting Paul Weller on his UK tour this autumn (2005). Live in Doncaster they reminded me of Weller twenty years ago, banging out class tunes in a confident, aggressive and entertaining manner. After the live experience the album does not disappoint. The songs are Jam-esque. They are loud, brash and powerful - Dogs serve up an awesome treat - a terrific first album and a band that we will hear much more of in the years to come.

I saw this band supporting Paul Weller on his current tour, and they had me hooked from the opening track. A raw sound to the album which has been lacking in the charts recently. Great melodies and stinging lyrics with a very tight well rehearsed band. Looking forward to seeing them live again. Buy this album, you won't regret it.
