Wow! What a bravura debut. Under the Sheets is a breathtaking blend of the whimsical and the defiant; it launches Ellie G into the stratosphere of independent artists who have something to say, underling their protests with effortlessly engaging, intelligently arranged music. With her softly seductive voice; teasing eroticism and airy searingness, she produces an intoxicating punch which beguiles and mesmerises, helped by the most dynamic, passionately fierce drumming to match the fury crouching in the lyrics...Brilliantly written; foot-tappingly engaging; grows and grows into an irresistible infusion that never tires no matter how many times it's played....
If you think this track is good, check out Guns and Horses (please bring to I TUNES sooooon) which contains all the hallmarks of Ellie's style and is perhaps an even sharper song...

It's brilliant, here's my review of it:
Here, Ellie Goulding, the chic hoodie and trainers supporter delivers her debut single. Having already performed on ‘Later live with Jools Holland’ without a release to her name, this 21 year old London girl sees the release of ‘Under the Sheets’ on Neon Gold record label, previously home to Passion Pit and Marina and the Diamonds, who has just left the label to pursue her debut album release on a major label. This excellent debut, cleverly produced by up and coming producer ‘Starsmith’ is filled with a scrumptious pop melody, contagious drum beats, some form of electronic harp sounds and strong choruses. Her interesting (yet not too uncommercial) angelic voice caries the song well through honest and striking lyrics from the simple “we’re in a mess babe” to the metaphorical “You left a bloodstain on the sheets.”
