Of Nadgers and Bogle Clenchers
Rambling Syd Rumpo works on the basis of a unique and entirely bogus vocabulary which hints at double-entendres throughout. Very funny if you enjoy it, as clearly the live audiences did.

Feeling depressed by the Credit Crunch?? Buy and play this album regularly and life becomes worthwhile again.
Rubbish, not worth the money!!!
Well, you can't go wrong with Kenneth Williams and Rambling Syd Rumpo or Jules and Sandy for that matter but sadly this great collection of sketches is spoiled by the lack of Kenneth Horne and the rediculously hilarious banter between Syd Rumpo and Mr Horne.
As any follower of the series, Kenneth Horne always introduced Rambling Syd and they discussed his recent travels and experiences before he sang his ditty for the show.
To edit out the context of Syd with Kenneth Horne and the reactions of the audience to their remarks is really, extremely poor and short-sighted. And to add lots of songs THAT ARE NOT RAMBLING SYD, but Kenneth Williams is rubbish.
I would bet that the person who put this together is far too young to appreciate this series or the character sketches it contains and also doesn't realise that the introductory conversations are crucial to the character and make Syd even more humorous. They've just stuck loads of varied William's material together without any care of understanding whatsoever.
Don't buy this if you want the real Rambling Syd, try and find the earlier cd with everything on it, or buy the Round the Horne series instead.
It'll get deleted from my playlist pronto!
