Incredible Masterpiece

Wider Angle is a double disc album containing Wide Angle and then disc 2 which contains miscellaneous live tracks. If you are familiar with Hybrid then you will know how outstanding they are. If you don't then you are seriously missing out! Wide Angle has been one of my if not THE favourite album of all time. You may know Finished Symphony from various tv trailers. Every song on this album is unique from the rest, and every one is awesome. Well produced and incredible composition. Imagine 5 albums-worth of awesome material crammed into 1, this is wide angle. Give it a couple of listens and you will start to adore. Hybrid at it's very talented best. Vibrant and intelligent, something which can be rare with this genre.

My favourite album by hybrid and probably my favourite album ever!

I forgot how utterly arresting this is.

It has a swagger and a tempo that carries you through what is a beautifully crafted and varied album. I remember If I survive as the theme song to Wipeout, the first ever game to come out on the Sony Playstation. A little known fact was that you could take the game disc out and play it on your CD player. That's how Hybrid infiltrated my bones. Listening to this album, can it possibly be 15 years old? I feel old and young at the same time. Timeless ambient joy. If installed in a car, this album has the power to make you go faster. like Chemical Brothers Electronic Battle Weapon Number 8.

Hybrid began as a trio of remixers based in the Welsh city of Swansea: Mike Truman, Chris Healings, and Lee Mullin. Meeting while going to clubs in the early '90s, the three made their own remixes of recordings, eventually earning assignments from record companies to pursue their hobby professionally. Finally, they were signed to Distinct'ive Records and embarked on making an ambitious first album, Wide Angle, in Moscow, using such talents as singer Julee Cruise and the 90-piece Russian Federal Orchestra....
