Born Wicked....

The first true single from Hurricane and possibly the best selection of mixes Grace Jones has given us. The standout is the Greg Wilson Version which, with its pared down piano, Laurie Anderson-esque breaths and wolf howl, takes Williams' Blood onto new territory. Ivor Guest's version is kinda punchy while the Trixters mixes explore the reggae route. If you liked the album version - you'll love these.....

She's a honey!

Haven't got round to buying the actual album yet (hoping someone'll get it for me with the time of year and all!) but do really love this song. I'm spending far too much money on music and need to stop... but couldn't resist all the mixes! Some of which are really good, but don't see the point of mixes without vocals really - I like the trixter ones because dub reggae is always good, but not into the Greg Wilson and Ivor Guest ones. I'll go along with the other reviews and say the Aeroplane one is best, though to be honest you can't beat the original!

Grace In Your Face!

Welcome back Miss Jones, a truly sensational track from a truly wonderful album Hurricane. The track Just slowly builds with a great melody and groove to a lushes criscendo towards the end and with the help of Wendy & Lisa you can not go wrong. So why oh why has it taken Miss jones 19 years to grace us with comeback? One thing is for sure she certainly has not lost her edge, and a beauty only she can bring to a track. A highlight for me from Hurricane and im so glad the powers that be went with the Aeroplane remixes, they give the track such a dreamy feel. Enter Miss Grace Jones.......

Grace Jones was one of the more unforgettable characters to emerge from New York City's hedonistic Studio 54 disco scene during the late '70s. Born May 19, 1952, in Kingston, Jamaica, Jones studied theater at Syracuse University before launching a career as a model. Jones' statuesque and flamboyant look proved to be a hit in the New York City nightclub scene, which led to a recording contract with Island Records in 1977. While such disco-based albums as 1977's Portfolio, 1978's Fame, and 1979's Muse...
