love this! i was looking for twists on different christmas songs by well known artists. This album is great, kt tunstall, katy perry, colbie caillat, sara barielles,lenka... GREAT!
An Album For a Lifetime.
Why would I purchase a “Christmas” album in March?! The songs are beautifully arranged, the vocals are powerful yet mellow, the harmonies are stunning & if you close your eyes, it feels as if you have a breathtakingly talented artist in the corner of the room with an acoustic guitar or a baby grand piano singing directly to you. It is also the choice of songs, some old classics that could be played on the radio in any era & not sound out of place, as well as lesser known Christmas songs that give this album a balance & timeless feel when played as a whole. This is a departure from the cheesy Christmas songs that we all hear played repeatedly from November until Christmas in every shop & on every radio station to the point that you dread the passing of the next 10 months when you must prepare your mind to be assaulted with them for another 6 weeks. This album is now part of my future Christmas and New Year traditions. I can imagine wrapping gifts & sipping mulled wine with this album as the soundtrack to my winters. It is so good that I may also guiltlessly & indulgently listen to it in spring, summer & autumn too.
