About Time Too !!!

At Last, the boys have reached their potential ! A certain similarity with the current England squad ?? A stirring, lifting song that will have us singing along as we make our way to the final. Listen....no one is going to write another 3 lions .. Get Over It !! The best by far......the lads deserve it..catch them live !!

FOOTBALL world cup - at least try to have some attitude

Like the majority of world cup songs, this effort by embrace lets england down. the world cup anthem is something meant to rouse the players and fans and really get the adrenaline pumping for the tournament. all i can imagine this song doing is putting people who hear it to sleep. for once can we have a song that fans can sing in the stadium and in bars and pubs without feeling like a slightly jazzed up church choir. the opposition fans would be in fits of laughter if any of our fans tried to sing this at a match.

This is Proper Music not Vindaloo!

All these people who are moaning that this shouldn't be the official world cup song just need to listen to any football highlights package on Sky, BBC or ITV. They all carry Embrace songs and their uplifting anthemic melody suits football perfectly. The guys that choose that type of music for the BBC etc are not idiots, they are paid handsomely to choose music that fits a particular mood, and they keep coming back to Embrace. The people that wanted Vindaloo all over again don't have a clue about music. This is proper music by a proper band, it eclipses the quality of songwriting of any previous attempts by miles and is as good a job as any bone fide band could have done. The fans still have their terrace chants, just accept this for what it is, a great song that will put everyone in a good mood when watching the goals over again. Just as Ashes, Target etc etc have all shown to be successful at already.

Biography

Formed: Yorkshire, England

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Following in the footsteps of Oasis and the Verve, Embrace became a minor pop sensation in post-Brit-pop Britain in the late '90s. Like Oasis, the group has a knack for big, anthemic hooks, yet they turn these catchy numbers into sweeping, sprawling, lugubrious rockers, much like the Verve. This synthesis earned the group an equal number of critics and detractors, but they were able...
