Beautiful, wistful, and energetic music from Joy Wants Eternity. You Who Pretend To Sleep is a magical Album, with sounds that will without doubt have you clutching at images past and future. This is what post rock does, it creates moments in the mind that lyrics can warp, you chose what to feel, and this offers you a choice. "About the clouds lies eternal sun" is a quite magnificent track, and on par is the amazingly crafted "yet onward we marched" in between are peices of music that can pull at all the strings the heart has, "what lies beyond" could be used in an ending to any Movie, its haunting and thought provoking. In short, if you love... and i mean love, This Will Destroy You, Explosions In The Sky, Saxon Shore etc etc, then this album is for you, truely outstanding!! By chance, do not expect to much from their other Album "must you smash your ears before you learn to listen with your eyes?" , apart from Abide Moment there are very few tracks of merit. I would download this Album and Abide Moment as a single track.
