Flying High As Always
The 747s Are certainly something unique. Who else could take the music of the past and reproduce it in such a way that a new sound is created? Having met the band recently and having had the pleasure of playing alongside them in Liverpool long ago, I know that it is not just the musical talent of the band which sets them aside; It is not often you meet a band who come across as genuine people, people you could get along with even if they lived ordinary lives. Thankfully for the world, people everywhere have the oppurtunity to see and hear Oisin, Ned, Freddie and Massimo more often. From the strong and vibrant riffs of Night and Day through the warming melodies in Missed That Sun and the rhythms that simply make you smile of Nature's Alibi, You can't help but wonder why all albums aren't so consistently as high a standard of music. Listen to this album.
These guys rule!
Saw them at Carling 24, didnt have a clue who they were, they blew everyone else off stage. Amazing live, very original, well worth a listen.
Indie with a twist
The 747's debut album is a nice breath of fresh indie air: it mixes indie stylings with great vocal harmonies to tremendous effect. If you like Indie music and you want a differet take on the genre then I'd fully reccommend this album.
