To use this first direct iPhone® App you need to be a first direct customer and registered for first direct Internet Banking.
We know that you like to manage your money when you’re ‘on the go’. That’s why we’ve created this App. It allows you to see and use some of your Internet Banking services more easily on a smaller screen.
Our App allows you to:
•view balances and your last 20 transactions
•make transfers between your accounts with us
•make payments to an existing person or organisation
You’ll still need to log on to full Internet Banking at firstdirect.com regularly to access all services. We recommend you do this at least every 14 days. Some of the Internet Banking services that you can only access by logging on at firstdirect.com are:
•full statement information
•details of monthly charges, fees and interest
•sending and receiving secure messages
•setting up payments to a new person or organisation
•cancelling or amending a payment you have set up
We don’t charge you for this App, but we can’t say the same for your network provider, who may charge you for downloading and using the App. You’ll be responsible for these charges.
We recommend that you don’t use this App abroad, but if you do, you’ll need to make sure that it’s permitted by local law, and remember your network provider’s charges may be higher.
The App may be withdrawn at any time; we will do our best to tell you if this is going to happen.
It’s important that you only download Apps in accordance with the terms and conditions that you have agreed with Apple.

Following your feedback, we've made it quicker and easier for you to log on to the Banking on the go App. Here's how.
• we've introduced an option to save your username securely within the App
• we've made entering your password more straightforward, by asking you to enter the required characters into a single field, instead of needing to tap between separate fields.

Balance
Still needs an option to show available balance (taking into account all pending transactions) not just current balance. This would make if 5 stars.
At last
Wonderful app. Well overdue. Could do with a few tweaks like being able to change a reference to someone you wish to pay again. Hope First Direct keep working on this app as it's the best banking app so far.
Great app
Have found this app to be very reliable have had none of the problems mentioned in some of the other reviews. The log-in is much improved with the new update! And it's handy to have the option of the app remembering my username.
