Description

Banner is an LED-matrix-like display with which you can show custom messages. The following items can be shown:

- 5 user-defined messages
- 35 types of symbol characters
- Date (3 formats)
- Time (3 formats)
- Tweet (3 defined feeds based on user's timeline or keyword search)
- Music (Artist, Song, Album)

The application has the following settings:

- Scroll speed
- Blink speed
- Landscape-only mode
- Upside-down display
- Mirror display
- Double-tap editing
- Sleep disable

- Character size (3 sizes)
- Element (LED) size (3 sizes)
- Element (LED) shape (6 shapes)
- Element (LED) color (Hue, Saturation)
- Element (LED) color randomization

Tweets will be updated ever minutes or every tweets displayed.
"Banner Free" is a free version with ads; "Banner" is a paid version without ads.
Both "Banner" and "Banner Extreme" have the same functionalities.

Old reviews: The free version hooked me; this version is even better. Colour and style controls could be improved, but even so it's a no-brainer. BUY IT!

59p for a bike!

I won a bike for using this app. Found so many uses for getting messages to people in noisy rooms. When the DJ at a local club was giving away a free bike, a quick message on Banner made it mine. £100 saving. Thanks!

A great bit of fun

I love this little app - it just displays scrolling text across the screen in a number of styles, colours and speeds. That's it, but that's fine with me. Great for sending a message to someone one the other side of a room or through a train window - all kinds of possibilities. I got the paid version and it works very nicely in the main and the scrolling speed is great.

However, there are some rough edges and bugs in V1.1:
*) When editing the text, the 'X' to clear the existing text doesn't work
*) The settings indicate which shape is selected with a blue background, but it doesn't do that with the colour (though it does change the colour and preview it)
*) How DO you get a heart, or any other non-alpha, into the text?
*) It implies that you can choose any colour, but I can't see how to choose anything other than the 6 supplied.

I look forward to a few fixes. But even with the points above it's still great.
