Disappointing
If you want a basic card file with a pretty GUI then Bento is fine. If you want to be able to do anything with your data such as search It other than basically, perform calculations or export your data then Bento isn't for you. And unlike other applications, you ave to buy separate iPhone and iPad copies.
Sync doesn't work and no support available
What a surprise - endless synchronisation headaches - works one day, but not the next forums on about setting up new wireless networks etc. wasted a couple of hours re-setting everything up but then of course after teasing me with one successful sync it all stops working again. Even worse any sort of direct technical support has to be paid for - what a cheek - supply a product that doesnt work and then make em pay to speak to you about it. I am so tired of computer software people that think the rest of us have nothing better to do than spend our lives reading forums and playing with computers trying to get rubbish software to work .
Best entry-level, but missing features
Bento is pretty good for simple record keeping, but doesn't allow any sort of complex relationship - it only allows one field link to a second table, and that field has to allow many entries. Rubbish if, for example, you want to link an 'owner' field to a person in a People table and a 'previous owner' to the same People table. Linking from one able back to itself is also tricky. Beyond that, fairly intuitive, a good selection of field types and sorts.
