Ok, I give up
Every update fills me with optimism that the ludicrous censorship will be rectified. No such luck! The dictionary still won't allow the word "damn". Well, my Chambers dictionary doesn't object to any of the word's definitions. "Raping" doesn't exist either. That's telling you, Vikings. What a load of claptrap this is - dictated by the American bible belt, methinks.
Still Bowdlerised
Noticed there was an update with an expanded dictionary, hoped they'd have reversed the ludicrous Puritanism that disallows certain legitimate words, such as the English slang for "cigarette". No such luck. Somebody must have gone through the word list and removed anything too naughty for us to see. It's quite infuriating to have legitimate plays disallowed because of someone's prudery.
If you don't use the Official Scrabble Words, it isn't Scrabble.
Also, medium difficulty is still too easy and hard is still too hard.
Dictionary is nonsense
This app used to work fine with the SOWPODS dictionary (official Scrabble word list) but then an update changed it. Lots of real words no longer acceptable and lots of nonsense words are allowed.
Fine if you are a total beginner I suppose, but otherwise very frustrating to use.
Update 1 August 2011: latest update doesn't work at all. This once riveting application gets more and more useless with each update.
