Great in almost every way

Works flawlessly. Pen pressure works great with the Apple Pencil. Virtually no lag when running wirelessly, and literally no lag when plugged in. Love the fact that there is a setting to stop the screen responding to touch (so it only recognises the pencil to draw), so you can actually rest your hand on it without fear of accidentally pressing something, but it still responds to multi touch gestures so you can zoom and move with your fingers. Really nicely integrated.

The one and only thing missing for me is support for the iPad Pro keyboard. If I could use that as an input for photoshop instead of having to use the computer keyboard for my keyboard shortcuts that would be great. Perhaps something that can be added later!

The only thing this doesn’t do (and I haven’t taken a star off as I suspect this is more of a hardware limitation rather than something wrong with the app) is show you where the cursor is when you hover near to the screen, a feature my Wacom tablet does have; however, the fact that this has a screen on it more than makes up for it and it’s very usable as a tablet interface for things like photoshop.

Happy Bunny so far...

I was a little sceptical initially, as I’d seen a few complaints now that Astropad offers a pro version, however, for me the standard version works a treat and even as a professional, I find it does the job adequately for what I use it for. I’ve never been one for relying on shortcuts, so I have no problems with any lack of porting in this regard (though I am aware of it). If you are a more ‘manual’ worker like myself, standard Astropad will work fine. No lag to speak of and as long as your connection is good everything keeps up. I have an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil, which I pretty much regard as the ideal setup with Astropad. I intended for it to replace my ancient Wacom, which it seems to be managing very well. Happy so far and will hopefully continue to be! Great product and worth the one off payment.

Steve the cat ,

Just not worth nearly 30 pounds.

So like I am sure many others have done I researched long and hard about if this app would allow me to do professional work on my iPad pro.
The simple answer is no.
The lag wasn't really an issue for me as it was virtually unnoticed. And it is a neat app for what it does. The issue is space. There just isn't enough screen space even on my 12 inch iPad pro. You are constantly having to minimise menus, layers etc in order to try and keep enough canvas on the screen. As this app is mirroring your main screen tabs etc are tiny. Also it only mirrors a portion of your main screen so you have to resize your photoshop work space which I found annoying. I have used a cintiq for years. There's no way this would or could even come close to that experience so please don't believe the hype.
Procreate so far is the closest you'll get on an iPad to a true photoshop experience. Astropad just has way too many issues that are a hindrance in create a solid professional work flow.
