If you've maintained a website for any length of time, you'll know that links very quickly become broken, because we move, delete or change our own pages, and other people that we link to do the same. This is called 'link rot'
A broken link on your site is a dead end for your visitors and will also be bad news for your search engine optimisation (SEO).
Unless you enjoy clicking every single link on your site followed by the back button, then you'll need to use a website crawler like Integrity!
Feed it your home page address (url) and Integrity will follow all of your internal links to find your pages, checking the server response code for all internal and external links found.
On features - Integrity is free and is intended to be no more than a simple but effective link checker. Note that Scrutiny is a more advanced app with features such as managing multiple sites, crawling pages requiring authentication and webmaster tools which go beyond link checking.

Simple and Straightforward Link Checker
Much is made of the Broken Link Checker plugin however most accounts state that it can be resource heavy on your server. This is a simple web based crawl tool that I discovered when searching for BLC alternatives. Helped me find a broken internal link which I could correct via my admin area. For a free little tool like this I’ve nothing to complain about. Latest update was January 2015 so it hasn’t been abandoned by the developer.

Nice little app, as a freelance website designer I use this for every site launch and has proven to be very useful over the years.

Crashes a lot
Great but crashes every time I start looking at the information view of bad links while the crawler is still running.

I'm glad you find it great other than this instability when you tried to view data while the scan was running. You should find things better in the current version, but we'd like to have details if anyone does experience problems.
That said, the amount of data that you can view while the scan is running is deliberately limited. you can scroll through the 'by link' table while it's scanning but a. the data is being continuously updated, better to wait until it's complete, and b. the scan will run noticeably faster if you switch back to the setting screen (as updating the table with the continuous stream of new data is a real overhead).
