Outstanding app

For any lover of Leonardo art or drawing the human form, this app is outstanding. Well documented, excellent graphics and I love the mirror, to enable viewing his writings the corrects way around.
Absolutely excellent.

Why can't all books be like this?

Bought the app after visiting the exhibition at Queen's Gallery. Both superb if you like Leonardo's drawings. Originals are really brought to life with the app, being able to zoom in, look at mirrored view of his writing and have his text translated on the drawings all fantastic in helping me understand his anatomy work.

Information button also provides a pop up explanation of each drawing. Again really helpful in providing immediate focussed information.

There are also some interactive images alongside a text by the curator of Windsor library on Leonardo's life and work with video snippets from experts talking about his work.

I thought the first few reviews were from 'sponsored' reviewers but the app was on display at the exhibition and after a quick play I bought it the minute I got home, it made the physical book look quite staid and boring, and it really does make you realise what they could do to bring books alive!

By far the most I've spent on an app but is good value if you treat it as the high quality book you are really purchasing and it won't get dusty on your bookshelf!

Stunning

A beautifully produced title full of informative text and narrative that really brings the anatomical drawings of the great master to life. The ability to study these drawings at close hand and in high resolution is wonderful and with the added ability to 'decode' Leonardo's own notes makes this app truly unique.
I like the juxtaposition of the drawings and the modern 3D visualisations but I'm not sure they add that much to the understanding of the drawings and Leonardo's great skill as a scientist and artist. What they do try to do is demonstrate how accurate his direction and observational studies really where and this is truly staggering and thought provoking.

Touch Press set the bar quite high for these types of iPad apps. Well done
