ACCESS ALL LOGIC PLUGINS INSTRUMENTS & AUTOSAMPLER

I bought LOGIC when it came out in the early nineties and loved it right up until it merged with Garage Band. I actually hate the interface. So now I use Ableton or FL Studio for programming and treat them like hardware sampler or synthesisers then move to BitWig to record audio. What I miss out on is a superb sound library and some very familiar plugins. Main Stage is your access to everything in LOGIC without the dumbed down interface. I generally use Networked MIDI and run it on a second machine and patch the audio. It's actually easier to do it in Main Stage than in LOGIC. So I get all the keyboards. I get the guitar rigs and effects. I get all the plugins and it's a also really good way to run AU plugins to free up CPU. Anyone using any other sequencer than LOGIC should buy this. Anyone playing live should buy this. It's access to the best part of the LOGIC experience. It's always been stable for me, even when running it via IAC on the same machine.

Ignore the negative reviews

If you intend to rely upon a tool for a mission critical task, you have to do everything you can to ensure you fully understand it and how to operate it so it is stable and reliable.

I used to use five keyboards and a mixing console. There wer constant problems, masses of maintenance, and a difficult setup to transport and assemble. My Korg Triton Extreme 88 used to lock up sometimes. Cable noise, hum, mains issues - I got fed up with it.

I've used Mainstage for the past 8 years, on stages all over Europe, in front of audiences of thousands. The only problems I have encountered have been related to external factors, NOT to the software. They have been rare. Mainstage has been solid, even if external interfaces, cables, controllers, and on one occasion the Macbook, have caused issues.

Ensure you have reliable hardware, and USE MAINSTAGE.

Interesting

An interesting mix of reviews here.
Logic Mainstge has been a game changer for me in many ways including; studio to stage transfer as a Musical Director of big pop gigs.
It has made touring so much easier as I dont have to cart 6 keyboards around and can work with one or two.
Pop a back up of your Mainstage set on a clone drive or better still a clone mac and you cant go wrong, even lob a copy of you set one on Dropbox and on the tech's mac for the super paranoid.
In 8 years of using Mainstage Ive never encountered and issue that hasnt been somehow accountable to school boy error or hardware.
This many complaints about the update makes me hesitate to download the update.
If it aint broke ..... to much at stake when you are in front of 50k folk.
