Please note: This app requires iOS 4.2 or later.
TROUBLESHOOTING: A number of users have experienced no sound when initially playing the app content. Please check that you have switched the mute button off at the side of your hand set. Also check that the mute button is setup to be a sound selector rather than a orientation selector. Finally ensure that the volume slider on the video screen is zipped up to full volume. Everybody who has experienced sound issues has had success when following these instructions.

Love the app, not sure about the hair clip....!
My 5 year old chose this app himself as a treat for getting in the rainbow at school (for writing a nice story!) and both he and my 3 year old love it! Once we'd sorted out the sound issue with mr thornes help (due to my own technical inadequacies, not those of the app I might add!) the boys were instantly quiet, paid attention and copied Mr Thorne, right down to mannerisms and actions! eldest enjoying challenge of reading for himself, 3 year old looking at word shape and copying so both are learning, but having fun at same time. Regional accents are catered for too!
Only slightly put off myself by Mr Thornes kirby grip in some clips, but the boys didn't seem to notice!

Mr Thorne Does Phonics
This is a truly amazing teaching app. I love it. It engages young children in daily phonics in a fun way. Children can be left to work independently or in groups. This app is also superb for children and young people with special needs. It is easily accessible on the iPad and allows for independent learning.
Simply fabulous!
As an HLTA working in a primary school, this is an invaluable resource for our pupils. Mr Thorne teaches the sounds in a way that kids can relate to and respond to. This is a great supplement to our phonics teaching and reinforces the sounds to the children in a fun and positive way. THANK YOU!
