Really good apart from crediting.
I'm really enjoying this app, I can have my lyrics offline and synced to time and it's really good.
One problem I have noticed however is with credits.
I wrote the lyrics a few hours after they had been released as no one had done them yet and wrote all the lyrics.
I do not have premium so I couldn't credit myself as doing that but I synced and wrote the lyrics to 4 songs.
Later, I checked the songs again as I wanted to listen to them and noticed that there was a small circle in the top right corner that had a profile picture and when I clicked it, it showed the subtitles lyrics and sync, for two of them I didn't appear at all in either and for the other two I only appeared as having synced it alongside one other person.
I spent a good hour or so doing the lyrics and while I understand I do not have premium and cannot credit myself, clearly I can appear on that tab and I would like to be recognised for doing the work that I have done.
This is a bug that I would like sorting as it's quite disappointing to do all that work and sync it only for someone else to appear as having done the work, especially when I didn't make mistakes and as such, should appear.
Other than that though, it is a great app and it's lovely to have offline and synced lyrics.
Bug issues
I used to use this app a lot 2-3 years ago, like almost every day. Unfortunately about a year ago or so I started experiencing unusable bugs with it. Every time a track finishes and the next track starts, the lyrics from the previous track scroll back to the top and start playing the same song again. The same thing happens when I press the skip track button. When I close the ‘now playing’ screen and open it back up again, the progress bar is still moving but the lyrics have changed to a song that I listened to 6+ months ago. The only way I can get this app to work is using the artist select feature and playing a track through the app instead of through Apple Music. I have to do this for every track, which isn’t very convenient as most the time I enjoy listening to albums front to back.
After not using this app for a year or so, I’ve come back to find the exact same issues, despite there being numerous upgrades in the mean time. It should also be noted that I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app countless times, and the issues unfortunately are still there.
Excellent app with little to be improved
Really great app, I love everything from the options of backgrounds, to the matching font with Spotify’s own interface.
However, my only gripes are that the interface (and how the different sections, eg. search) can sometimes be a bit annoying to navigate, with the feeling of their being too little on screen when not in lyrics mode. Also, the word-by-word syncing can be a bit tricky to do, perhaps a speed control wouldn’t go amiss?
Anyway, great app, and I look forward to using it in the years to come 😊
