Works but old

The info provided in the app is generally accurate (although the Live Trains feature is useless, who knows what station a train originates from if you’re not on it from near the start?!) but the design is still years out of date. I’m genuinely surprised Apple still allow developers to submit updates for apps that haven’t been designed to fit the screen sizes we’ve had for the last 10 years.

Accurate but poor UI

I use this app a lot and have to say it’s definitely very accurate and reliable. ‘Upgrading’ to the paid for version provides welcome relief from those awful massive ad banners, but apart from this, having used the free version for a while before, it is definitely just as accurate and reliable.

However, the UI is absolutely dreadful and it’s a shocker that National Rail aren’t embarrassed to have their name on such a terribly designed app UI. The previous comments say it all eg the keyboard and the UI not even adapting to the size of the phone screen. It literally looks like this app was designed for the iPhone 3G and has never been touched since.

Laughable

It’s ironic the same people who want to “modernise the railways” by closing ticket offices are the same people who develop this horrific app.

How is it still allowed on the AppStore?? The UI is still iOS 6 style. It’s not optimised for any phone beyond the iPhone X which was 2017. I rally don’t understand why not?? Can we get a answer please. With the sluggish UI comes a brutal oversized keyboard and clunky interface.

Newly opened and long time opened stations are still missing. So is the ability to add a 26-30 railcard which has been available since 2019. Why are these basic things missing and why would it take a update the make them available. If these things cannot be added remotely into a drop-down list what on earth is going on.

If you want to save money I would start by lowering the wages of the app developers who are doing a terrible job. I am sure some university students or even school kids could do a better job than this. Really need to give your head a wobble. Probably the worst app that’s still available on the UK App Store.
