SimpleMind − Mind Mapping 4+

I’ve found this really useful. I had been struggling to organise information/ideas for work and study. Normally I use bullet lists to do this but I sensed I needed a simpler visual representation. This app has helped me do that. It’s really easy to use. I love the fact that branches can be collapsed and expanded to hide or show information. The only thing I didn’t understand was where the files were saved and how to save them as the save button was always greyed out. But they seem to autosave and it turns out that the files are saved in a hidden folder on the computer. The idea is that you don’t go to that folder and open a file as that can mess the file up for some reason. Simply open the file from the pane on the left of the screen. The paid version allows you to save your files to Dropbox but I haven’t needed to use that yet. The free version works fine for my needs.

SimpleMind Lite really helps putting lots information down look minimal and easy to revise from.
As a student, I use it to print off mindmaps with lots of important schoolwork on them, and the way the app works really allows you to type everything you need onto the map without making it look too clustered and hard to learn from.
Furthermore, the app has various different layouts to choose from, meaning you can change the appearence of your mindmaps to suit your taste and purpose - which is espacially convienient if, like me, you like all of your work being neat and colourful.
It's really simple to use, and only took me around 5 minutes to really get into grips with how the application worked. I was able to complete my first mindmap within 10 minutes, so on the whole, SimpleMind Lite really isn't too time consuming at all.
A great app, and would 10/10 reccomend to any students in need of a revision app.

I’ve used mind mapping for years and have owned very sophisticated mapping tools which I’ve used to help solve significant systems problems for large businesses. I’m now retired and no longer have my subscriptions to these great tools, so I went looking. Mind Mapping works because it intuitively follows the way information is both created and organised in our neural structures. Mapping tools that go beyond this intuitive design often fail to deliver what is expected. SimpleMind Lite turns out to be just the ticket for me. I did 4 significant mind maps the first day I had it. It is simple, as the name says, helps easily open the intuitive process and the immediate translation to PDF is great as I needed to share those maps the same day. I’ve yet to explore the full capabilities of this tool but it’s clear I love it already.
