South African Airways 4+

I booked a JHB CPT SAA flight, due to fly next week so I downloaded this app last night. When I booked the flight it was leaving at 14:30 but the app now tells me my booking with the same flight number is leaving at 12:30 but when I check the flight schedule in the app it says 10:30. This is a connecting flight from my UK flight so I had a sleepless night before calling SAA customer service who confirmed the flight leaves at 14:30. Phew. What a useless app. Hopefully it’s not indicative of SAA as a whole. I’ll find out next week

This app is so far behind other airline apps, there is no point in downloading. It’s slow, there’s bugs which make the screen jump, it freezes, takes you to the wrong page (for example when you try and selects a seat on an existing booking). This app is so prehistoric, you might as well tell passengers to manage their booking through cave paintings. Why would I expect anything better from SAA though in the state they are in.

I am a Lifetime Platinum member but am still embarrassed by how poor SAA is as an airline. The line to give you a mobile boarding pass (Vs emailing your boarding pass) has been broken for at least a year - it was working when the App first launched. Despite numerous report nothing has been done. Passengers are voting with their feet. Try the Lufthansa or BAA Apps. They are great!!
