Wish more though of user journeys had been done i.e. Most uses of the app will not need to know about the guide but easily compare products. Waste of money except for the yearly updates, assuming they happen. Please take on board and release a v2 soon.
It's bad.
You need to understand what an iPhone app should be about. I want to scan a barcode in shop and find out how ethical it is. Go back and start again.
Great info, terrible app
It's a book scanned in and turned into an app, really not easy to use though a reasonable read.
It kind of summarises why it's so hard to get people to buy into ethical consumer choices - there's absolutely no need for something that's ethically sound to be clunky, ineffective, hugely overpriced and massively more of a pain in the @rse to use than an equivalent product made by an organisation that is horrifically unethical. Sadly, for some reason, it is often the case. This app will encourage & assist those already 'converted' to make better choices more easily, but is unlikely to convince those who can't be bothered that it's worth the hassle.
Let's try and stop making it hard for people to break out of their inertia purchasing choices! Like previous reviewers said, something a little slicker - and at least legible on a 3GS screen ffs, unless you want us all to upgrade & create MORE landfill, can't believe I spent money on tables I can't actually READ!! - might make more people take this on. At the moment it's a bit too much effort to use regularly & a bit of an insult to the purchaser tbh - they've not even bothered to proofread it so it still refers to itself as "this book" where they've just pasted the text across. If you want people to choose alternatives to the bad old familiar brands you've got to at least demonstrate you can be bothered to proof read it before taking their money! Otherwise you just reinforce the myth that ethical/green = overpriced/poor quality/more work for the consumer which is the last thing we need.
