Good app for Estonian

I’ve been using this app for a couple of months now and finding it really useful and the best I’ve encountered so far as not many apps do Estonian. One thing that I’ve also seen in other reviews is that some of the words are really formal and not used in real life, and my Estonian friend gives me real life alternatives. I wish you could add your own alternatives in and record them yourself so that when a card comes up, you can learn it the ‘proper’ way but also add on your own alternative so you don’t forget.

Thanks for your feedback and we’re glad you are enjoying learning with us. 😊For each language we add to our app we always use two native speaking translators and two native speaking voice artists so our customers can learn proper everyday speech. But it is possible that some of the translations are more respectful in tone than words your friend would choose because our translators want to cater for a range of potential users across a range of circumstances. Could be better

I like that it’s gamified and the sounds. However it’s slow sometimes (not because of performance but because it has delays, e.g. when I do the speaking tasks I have to wait a second before I can start speaking, a second until I hear the correct pronunciation, a second until I can click next; similarly for others) and I don’t have the patience to waste time like this when I could be already doing the next lesson. Also it seems there’s no way to continue without paying because I only have 30 coins now after completing 2 lessons at 100%. Might as well be paid from the beginning, however I wouldn’t pay for this. Customer support took a few weeks to reply, and now I’m still waiting after I replied back.

We’re glad you liked our app in principle and, following your comments, our IT guys have put in some long hours and successfully sped up many of the things you mentioned. :) We use in-app coins to give learners a way of trialling our product for free and, as 40 coins = one topic, playing another game should unlock another topic for you. Great app

I downloaded this app to learn basics before my holiday. I picked up a lot of words and phrases quite quickly.

The interactive games make it so much easier to learn the language than just reading it. There are a lot of categories which cover most things rather than just the basics. I think the monthly subscription is a reasonable price for what you get.

Of course it’s not going to make you fluent in a language but still a great starting point, I would definitely recommend.
