does one thing and does it well

great app, if you start using this, your productivity and well being really will improve. Great that you only pay once to switch to premium, and not a monthly or yearly subscription.

Some other people have complained you cant set a frequency for a habit (eg no junk food for 5 out of 7 days). Instead you just put the number in the title (eg exercise 4 days this week), then you just put 'skip' for the days when you don't exercise. It's up to you to put an (X) for a day when you have broken the chain: eg exercise for 4 days might be : Y-Y--YX .. because you got to the end of the week and hadn't exercised 4 times. At first I was also looking for the option for x per week or x per month on a task, but this way is actually much more flexible and easier. Just thought I'd mention that as it's not in any tutorial/instructions!

Thanks!

Good point on the frequency issue. Should include that in the walk-through!

Honestly indispensable

Ever since a friend turned me on to this app, it’s part of my daily routine to map my habits. It’s been so so transformative to do this and knowing when you’re doing well and maybe struggling over the years is extremely powerful personally. I love this app and hope to use many years to come. I gave it 4/5 just for one reason. It’s an improvement, not something that is bad per se. One thing is I’d like to monitor some habits that, when I don’t do them, it’s not a negative. I’d like these to just “add to the green” as opposed to adding grey to my overall. Another thing: it would be great to have integrations with exercise apps to bring in the fact that you’ve exercised without the need to tap it in. Tapping in everyday however is still so so easy and useful so this a nice to have that I think longer term can really power up the app. Thanks for the amazing work!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us! It's great to hear the app is helping you to improve and you find it so easy and straightforward to use!
We are grateful for your feedback as well, and it's for sure something we will look more into in the next upcoming years! Stay tuned and happy tracking!

Very good app, could use improvements

I use both this app and Daylio, this one for much longer than Daylio (at least a year). The app is very easy to use and I really like the developer. I also love that you can add unlimited tags and notes, the free (and affordable premium) themes. Daylio charges for the ability to add more tags, and Way of Life doesn’t. Some things could be improved, like have neutral categories (sometimes I just want to track habits that are not necessarily bad or good, to be able to compare), maybe reporting could be improved as well to be more human-readable, like “you tend to do this a lot” or “you haven’t been doing much of this lately”. I think neither Way of Life nor Daylio replace one another, they are just different with a similar concept. Overall I highly recommend the app, it’s very useful! :)
