APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Some thrillers grab your attention immediately and keep a furious pace. They’re often terrific, but there’s also great skill to the slow burn. Here, debut novelist Lauren North shows admirable restraint in allowing her insidious tale to deliciously uncoil. She introduces us to widowed Tess, seeking solace in the guidance of grief counsellor Shelley and battling to keep her son Jamie safe from the shadowy forces that throw fresh doubt over her husband’s death. Shelley is a terrific character: razor-sharp, duplicitous and loaded with ulterior motives. We were desperate to establish how Tess’ mysterious “rock” would reveal her true colours…

Easy read
Pleasantly engaging, if a little slow paced.
Great read
Great book lots of excitment and interest but only downside was I guessed the twist too early !
Wow
I predicted the twist a little while before it happened but it didn’t take away from the shock and shivers I felt when it was delivered. Just finished it and have tears in my eyes. Perhaps a little slow to start but once it got going I struggled to put it down. Fantastic read
