Imagine a drug that made your brain function with perfect efficiency, tapping into your deepest resources of creativity, intelligence and drive. A drug that can help you learn a foreign language in a day. A drug that can help you process information so fast you can see patterns in the stock market.
Just as his life is fading into mediocrity, Eddie Spinola discovers such a pill: MDT-48, Viagra for the brain. But while the benefits of such a mind-drug quickly start to materialise, so too do the side-effects. And when Eddie tries to track down other users, to help him kick his addiction, he finds out that they're all dying, or dead...

Absolutely incredible
Ever since the start, I couldn't put my phone down. It is THE best book I have ever read. It kept me wanting more through out. I didn't feel that the ending was rush as there is a clever twist (hence it's a thriller) I'll give the author 5 stars for making me so attached to the characters and the story plot, in addition to the appropriate grammar, literature and synonyms used. I completely loved it
Light & dark
I first read this almost 10 years ago when it was called The Dark Fields, and thought it was a brilliant book. What struck me most about it was the sensation of sharing Eddie's experience when he took MDT-48. Now the book has been re-released with the same title as the film that was based on the book - and the book's original title is used in the film as the book Eddie wrote. If you are buying this book because you enjoyed the film then be aware that this is a much darker story that doesn't have upbeat Hollywood ending of the movie. This is a far superior experience to the movie and highly recommended, and a real bargain at the price.
Brilliant
Whoever thinks the ending is rushed just doesn't understand the idea of the book.
Brilliant throughout.
