Focusing on two experiences of the spiritually-attuned artist—The Wilderness and the Desert of the Real—Geoff writes about how The Wilderness is a place of testing, where our resources are reduced to a bare minimum and our resolve to pursue an artistic life put to the test. Temptation abounds here, as well meaning friends tell us to ‘quit and get a proper job’. It is also, however, a place of intimacy where we learn the lessons of being beloved and cherished by God.
