Fantastic

I love this film, great one liners very funny film.

Weak Plot, Good on a CV, Great Film!

How do you rate a film like this? Mel Gibson plays the same role he always has (lots of swallowing, doe eyed looks) and Robert Downey Jnr plays his role to type (doe eyed wannabe tough guy), but at that point it ends, forget the poor script and the characterization of type and watch it for what it is, a simple film that uses good old fashioned special effects not CGI. 2 guys get put together, a bit of minimal character development and then they 'do the right thing'. not for everyones taste but you know what? when I have a pizza and a beer in front of me this will still be a great film. take out your brain (it is not that sort of film), switch off your phone (it IS that sort of film) and just enjoy a slice of an early Iron Man/Mad Max mix. A great film that is watchable when you are in any mood. best bits? RD Jnr harrasing a truck driver for holding up an ambulance, and MG for showing us that before we are told to be quiet, give us a moment of silence. Watch it. nostalgia at its best. (Oh , and much of the sound track seems to have been in Sahara!)

Not worth even £3 to rent.

Seriously boring! I mean, I *love* Mel Gibson and Robert Downey Jr. but this film is just so pointless and so plotless, their potential to brighten a movie with charisma isn't even given a chance. The main characters have no reason to be buddies, though they are, and indeed hardly any 'character' at all. Its based on a true story, and I'm sure it's a great story to tell if the person who was there is telling it, but the impersonality of it brings the whole film down. It would have been better if they'd made it into a cheesy romcom where the protagonists bicker nonstop, and that's saying something.
There's not even any gratituous action or toplessness!
