Plot Summary

In April 2010, the Quintanilla family travelled to their farmhouse in Sitges to investigate the 'Legend of the Girl of Garraf Woods', a local legend of a ghost haunting the nearby area. Using video cameras, teenagers Christian and July recorded their findings as they went along. Five days later, the whole family was found murdered. The local Police reported the existence of 37 hours of recorded evidence. Atrocious finally reveals the shocking true footage of those tragic five days.

Good film

I agree! Got my heart racin in parts, pretty scary.

Atrocious

All in the title! Don't watch if you can't stand subtitles, not for me!

Actually atrocious - Terrible film

Wish I'd read all the reviews. Massive waste of time and money. More or less what catwand says. Makes a really big deal of suggesting a particular thing is out in the woods and then delivers nothing more than one of the most lame and boring cameras-held-by-actors hours in film history. Literally absolutely nothing interesting, eventful or even remotely horrific takes place until the last five minutes in one of the stupidest and completely tacked on endings I've ever seen.

If the writer and director thought they were being cunning by suggesting it was one kind of story and then 'surprising' the viewer with a 'twist' they should presumably have at least had some suggestion was coming, then all they've done is show just how much they have a lot to learn about how smart (and particularly horror) audiences are. Dismal film and clearly jumping on the new Spanish genre reinterpretation wave since REC without any of that film's great directing and writing skill (although it makes a really big effort to include some of that now tediously cliched night vision camera work just in case we weren't sure which market it was trying desperately to tap).

Also way too short at something like 70 minutes although you'll probably find even that too much after you've realised at about the 45 minute mark that absolutely nothing is going to happen.

Avoid completely.
