Plot Summary
This nutty British comedy observes with jet black humor the myriad of outrageous calamities that befall an eccentric English clan with more than a few skeletons in its closets, when its patriarch dies an unexpected death. Soon, every complication imaginable - including the wrong corpse in the coffin, the accidental consumption of hallucinogenic drugs that causes uncontrollable exhibitionism, and the disclosure of the deceased's closeted kinky homosexuality - befall the grief-stricken mourners.

Extremely enjoyable
It is such a relief to watch a British film that reflects our lives, our manners, our customs. I knew from the title this would be good, haven't enjoyed a film about death as much since Harold & Maude. Wonderful, more like this please, with beautiful black wit, and less slick, dull, anodyne American films, most of which are interchangeable. In fact this film stands out as one of the few intelligent comedies on here, except for the vintage films. Oh God what a relief, I just wish there were other comedies to match it, that reflect the kind of world I know, that are actually funny, that don't rely in one boring big name from the USA to sell it, OK 'pace.' our lead here was American, but who could tell, he acts so brilliantly the uptight Englishman, his accent the lot, liberated by unfortunate means. Great performances, very very funny, those who call it dull, I dread to think what infantile schlock amuses them but they must bore for England.
an off - beat comedy that must not be missed
this is a very funny film. its off beat humour completely took me by surprise when i saw it in the cinema, and i was still laughing out loud after the film ended as a remember certain lines and scences which seamlessly poped up out of no-where. this is just a very well made british comedy which i'd definitely recomend to the off-beat humour fans out there!
