Plot Summary
Set in modern-day Britain, HARRY BROWN follows one man’s journey through a chaotic world where drugs are the currency of the day and guns run the streets. A modest law-abiding citizen, Harry Brown is a retired Marine and a widower who lives alone on a depressed housing estate. His only company is his best friend Leonard. When Leonard is murdered by a gang of thugs, Harry feels compelled to act and is forced to dispense his own brand of justice. As he bids to clean up the run-down estate where he lives, his actions bring him into conflict with the police, led by investigating officer DCI Frampton and DS Hickock.

Harry Brown
Michael Caine is Harry Brown, a northern Ireland veteran who takes the law into his own hands after his friend in murdered by the local youth, who have been terrorizing and tormenting the residents of his estate. It is perfectly shot and is a very moving and thought provoking film. Michael Caine is outstanding in the film as always, his protrayal of Harry Brown leaves the viewer feeling sorry for him, and if we were in that situation would we do the same. It does have a slow start, but stick with it as the first half an hour is just character and plot setting. It is one of the best british films i have bought this year and it truely is a must see film.
Harry Brown
If you think the world is a jolly place and you want that opinion to remain! Do not watch this film! This film will crush all those feelings in less than five minutes. It's a gripping, thought provoking and well directed masterpiece by Daniel Barber, with an impeccable Michael Caine in the lead role. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's better than 'Gran Torino', because it's a different film in many ways. This film reveals the shocking conditions of suburban, criminal life like you would expect it from films like 'City of God' but this time based right here in Britain. Very powerful and a must-see!
Gripping, powerful and beautifully shot
Daniel Barber delivers in style with his directional debut 'Harry Brown'. Beautifully shot film that will keep you watching in itself if you love film. Michael Caine's performance is second to none and you feel sympathy for him throughout. It's gripping, powerful and deals with very important issues within the UK today. This film is truly unmissable.
