Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
This is one of the best films in the Harry Potter film series. It is probably the only film that has stuck most closely to the plot of the book. As Harry wakes up under his usual place in Privet Drive, in the cupboard under the stairs, he thinks he is an ordinary boy. He has been living with his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon since his parent were killed in a "car crash". One day he receives a letter from Hogwarts, but before he could read it his uncle Vernon had deposed of the letter. On the night of his 11th birthday at 12.00, a huge figure comes knocking down the door of the lighthouse. This giant turned out to be Hagrid, his first person he had met from the wizarding world. He told Harry that he was a wizard and that he had been accepted to Hogwarts School of Withcraft and Wizardry, Harry had two options stay with his Aunt and Uncle who did nothing but hate him or change his life and become what he was meant to be a wizard. (well it would of been boring if he stayed with his Aunt and Uncle, the sequel would of been rubbish!). As Harry's life changes for the better, Hagrid told him that his parents had been killed by a dark and dangerous wizard called Voldemort, but his name is feared in the wizard community and is referred to as You-Know-Who or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Definitely a must own film, but the books are a lot better than the films.

This is one of the best films in the Harry Potter film series. It is probably the only film that has stuck most closely to the plot of the book. As Harry wakes up under his usual place in Privet Drive, in the cupboard under the stairs, he thinks he is an ordinary boy. He has been living with his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon since his parents were killed in a “car crash”. One day, he receives a letter from Hogwarts, but before he could read it his Uncle Vernon disposed of the letter. On the night of his 11th birthday at 12:00, a huge figure comes knocking down the door of the lighthouse - where they had gone to get away from the letters. The giant turned out to be Hagrid, his first person he had met from the wizarding world. He told Harry that he was a wizard and that he had been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry had two options, stay with his Aunt and Uncle who did nothing but hate him or change his life and become what he was meant to be, a wizard. (Let’s face it, if he stayed with his Aunt & Uncle, the sequel would have been rubbish!). As Harry’s life changes for the better, Hagrid told him that his parents had been killed by a dark and dangerous wizard called Lord Voldemort, but his name is feared in the wizarding community and is referred to as You-Know-Who or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Definitely a must owned film, and in my opinion the best Harry Potter film so far!
