Plot Summary

Michael Campbell is one of the few hundred white farmers left in Zimbabwe since President Robert Mugabe began his violent 'Land Reform' program in 2000. Since then the country has descended into chaos. In 2008 Mike took the unprecedented step of challenging President Robert Mugabe in an International Court; accusing Robert Mugabe and his government of racial discrimination and violations of basic human rights. What follows is an intimate, moving and often terrifying account of one man and his family’s extraordinary courage in the face of overwhelming injustice and brutality. Set against the tumultuous 2008 Presidential elections Mugabe and the White African follows Mike and son-in-law Ben Freeth's harrowing attempt to save their farm and with it the homes and livelihoods of 500 black workers and their families. Filmed over 12 months, a gripping courtroom drama unfolds whilst all the time Mike, his family and the farm workers face the all too real threats of Mugabe's wrath on the farm. After months of frightening threats and a horrific attack the Court’s judges finally rule unanimously in Mike’s and Ben’s favour. They return to the farm. But will Mugabe and his henchmen abide the Courts decision?

Mr Jobs - I hope Apple manages e-reputation

Dear Mr Jobs...
I hope that Apple manages e-reputation and that this gets to you. I am very pleased to have seen this film, but only if in spurring me to write this comment it makes a difference. I would love you to put it free on the home page of i-tunes but appreciate that might be complicated... At least I would invite you to watch it: As a film in its own right it is excellent; compelling, well shot, produced and directed. Unfortunately the characters are not actors - it's real and that makes it all the better and all the worse.
It's one of those films that makes an ordinary bloke like me ask an extraordinary bloke like you to make more of the film and the subject than a matter of revenue.
With a bit of luck this message won't get lost in the wasteland of the web.

A life-changing story that will move you.

Brilliant... astounding documentary that makes you question whether you are doing enough, and shows you true activism and courage in the face of adversity. I can't speak highly enough of the people involved in this emotional story.

A must for every liberal

Racism, the scourge of post-independence Africa, exposed in horrifying detail. Watch it and weep.
