Are you watching closely?

The prestige is the story of two magicians who are trying to start their careers and gain success, but when tragedy strikes during a performance, they turn against each other and become bitter enemies, bent on revenge and jealousy. A genuinely brilliant film, with outstanding performances from Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Hall, Michael Caine, Andy Serkis, David Bowie, Scarlett Johansson and Piper Perabo, you will not regret watching The Prestige. There are so many words to describe it, but the one I find most apt is perhaps 'intriguing' because the wonderful acting is backed up by the genius writing of the Nolan brothers who have created a fantastic script based on the story originally created by Christopher Priest, full of twists and turns that leave the viewers guessing from the get-go. From the opening of Michael Caine’s character introducing us to the art of a magic trick, to the battle that ensues between the characters portrayed by Bale and Jackman when a trick goes awry, the viewer is hooked. Rebecca Hall provides superb support as the woman in love with Bale’s Alfred Borden, who is tortured by the secretive world of Magicians. Ask yourself, ‘are you watching closely?’

Brilliant

Good film

Good film, well written and directed. A little long for the story they're telling but regardless a good film. Bale as always is superb and jackman isnt bad either.
