Zombieland
Zombieland is by far, one of the best and funniest zom-com’s since Shaun Of The Dead. It is highly hilarious and entertaining, with plenty of wit and humour that will leave you in stitches.
The USA is no more, instead it is completely run by zombies after an apocalyptic event, mad cow disease became mad human disease and then even worse. We are first introduced to the first of our four protagonists, Columbus played by Jesse Eisenberg, who is explaining his first four rules to stay alive in Zombieland. The rules include Cardio (make sure you can out run the zombies) , double tap (even if you think the zombie is dead, another shot wouldn’t hurt), beware of bathrooms (you don’t want to be caught in a bad situation) and always wear a seat belt (this is explained better in the film). Then we are shortly introduced to Tallahassee, played by Woody Harrelson, who has one mission in Zombieland, and that is to find the last box of twinkies. With his mission driving him mad, he and Columbus stop at a grocery store to complete his mission. But instead of Twinkies, they find sisters Wichita and Little Rock, played by Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin (respectively), who con them and steal their weapons and vehicle. But that isn't the last they see of each other.
This film is incredible with its dark humour and brilliant wit, and the rules become a running gag through the film. One of the funniest lines in the film is within the first five minutes, Columbus says to Tallahassee “You nearly knocked over your alcohol with your knife”, (it sounds better in the film, but had me laughing for hours). The cast is well chosen and the performances are great, there is even a cameo by Bill Murray.
Seriouly if you like your horror comedies then this is definitely for you. It is the best film I have bought this year.
Zombie land good and hilarious
Best horror comedy I have ever seen
iank
After a dearth of very serious po-faced blockbusters it was good to see a film that had a sense of fun. It had no other aim than to be just a great bit of entertainment and was played by four great leads who worked and bounced off each other well. The film was fast and funny and clocked in at a nice ninety minutes (other mega-length Hollywood directors please take note. It reminded me of some of the great 80s movies like Robocop and Total Recall, that were very well made, very silly, and always left you with a big grin on your face when you finished watching them. One of the very few mainstream films I have seen form the US recently that's actually been any good.
