  • Jono's Playlist's Celebrity Playlist
    • 1. "Love Comes Quickly" by Pet Shop Boys: "Perhaps a more undiscovered gem from the Pet Shop Boys who are one of my biggest influences. This is also one of Chris & Neil's favourite tracks. The production is incredible and it must have been amazing to be making records at a time like this where if you put the time and effort in, studio technology had started to allow so much to be possible!"
    • 2. "The Nightfly" by Donald Fagen: "The title track of one of my favourite albums ever, from one half of Steely Dan. Meticulously recorded, great chords, and the whole album is so tongue in cheek. Pure class."
    • 6. "Alone in Kyoto" by Air: "I discovered this track when watching the film "Lost In Translation", and promptly bought the Air album "Talkie Walkie" afterwards. I love everything that air have done, and the way that their recordings are so organic and distinctive - kind of like a classic car in a world of Ford Mondeos. This track has a great "waiting" atmosphere."
    • 7. "A Bad Dream" by Keane: "Keane are one of the best bands to come out of this decade and their second album "Under The Iron Sea" is a little more epic than the first, which has less space. Personally I now prefer this second album though it isn't quite as sing-along (but it is still is sing-along!)."

    • 2. "Will She Come Back?" by Cliff Martinez: "I love iTunes! I watched "Solaris" late one night and was blown away by the movie and the soundtrack. So I got straight on the web and looked for the (sadly deleted) CD and found it going for £75 on Amazon. But on iTunes - a snip at £7.99! Quickly became one of my most played albums, a fact made more peculiar by its emptiness and simplicity. This album makes Brian Eno sound like Beethoven's Fifth! But the atmosphere - my God. Better even than his work on "Traffic", this is Cliff Martinez and, dare I say it, the soundtrack genre at its best."
    • 4. "Hairshirt" by R.E.M.: "Michael Stipe famously said "never confuse the singer with the song". Written from the point of view of a dog belonging to the band's manager Bertis Downs that got scared when people came round for drinks, it comes from their greatest album, "Green". Released just before their commercial explosion, it shows R.E.M. at the very peak of their powers. Peter Buck on mandolin, Bill Berry on bass, Mike Mills on the organ and Michael Stipe on God knows what what, but I want some. "I could walk into this room and the waves of conversation are enough to knock you down, the undertow, I'm so alone....". Please come back."
    • 6. "Ridin' On a High" by The Timewriter: "I took my iPod and speakers to Ibiza last year and my room mate wouldn't let me change the album the whole week. The Timewriter's fourth and most accomplished album has many high points, but this track was the favourite of the holiday. Frank Cochois effortlessly makes funky tech house that makes your feet smile."

    • 1. "A Way of Life" by Hans Zimmer: "A brilliant, atmospheric track with superb chords by one of the world's most talented movie composers. Well worth checking his other work too!"
    • 2. "In Silence (Txitxarro Mix)" by Randy Katana: "Possibly the best ever club build up in the history of dance music."
    • 3. "Cre8" by Super8: "Super8 is one of my favourite producers and this gem is one of his finest. Emotional uplifting trance at its best!"
    • 4. "Little Fluffy Clouds (Ambient Mix 1)" by The Orb: "The Orb were years ahead of their time when they made this gorgeous offering: a timeless classic!"
    • 5. "Find (Andy Moor Remix)" by Ridgewalkers: "Some tracks stick to the bottoms of our CD wallets and end up on the Most Listened to playlists on our iPods... this is one of those: check out rest of Andy Moor's work too, he's the man."
