The club revolution began with the death of disco and has built up a momentum that will carry on through the peaks and troughs of house, techno, trance, jungle, hardcore . . . and whatever other myriad splinter-genres mutate and evolve from its core. Why not kick off with the big guns: Underworld, Fatboy Slim, and Basement Jaxx.

Once you've entered our pumpin' kingdom of club sounds, your dancing legs won't allow you to leave. Variety like this is hard to find, from the cheeky, charting techno of the Shamen ("Move Any Mountain") to the campy, throwback glamour of Kylie ("Your Disco Needs You") and the chilled groove of Rae & Christian ("Swimming Pool").

SL2 ("DJs Take Control") was a joint venture between DJs Lime (John Fernandez) and Slipmatt (Matthew Nelson), and the outfit retained its founders' roots in Old Skool. House scene veteran David Morales (also known as a producer for Madonna, U2, and others) keeps our Deep Cuts bubbling along with Kaskade's edit of "Here I Am".

Club culture is a euphoric celebration of love and energy. Since our early tribal days, when drums and chants did the work of turntables, we humans have never been able to resist the urge to convulse our bodies like we're possessed by benign demons. With our classic club collection, you can crank it up in royal style: we've got great original mixes (the Prodigy's "Charly") and stunning remixes (Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" by Richard X).
