Good but....

Since when are As I Lay Dying and BMTH death metal ? ¬¬

Sam

Poor selection of songs and bands. Slayer, Napalm Death and Carcass aren't death metal and Bring me the horizon and As I lay dying are even further from death metal.

Some good songs, but weak overall.

This is quite a mixed bag of songs. On one hand, we have one of death metal's greatest songs, the insane "Dead By Dawn", from the album that arguably defined the genre. On the other, we have music which is pretty terrible by comparison. Case in point: Bring Me The Horizon. They are hardly death metal as is, and are definately not in the league of bands like Deicide. This also brings into light a startling omission; Where's Death? They named the genre! How about Master, the first band to truly play Death Metal? Admitedly, Master are very obscure so may not be on itunes. But Death is a band that should always be included when talking death metal. They'd certainly fit better than As I Lay Dying! And Raining Blood- great song, but not death metal. I think doing a bit more research on a very broad genre would have made this essential a lot better. Kudos for including Bolt Thrower though.
