    • 3. "Glósóli" by Sigur Rós: "Guaranteed tear jerker."
    • 5. "From the Ritz to the Rubble" by Arctic Monkeys: "Some of the most 'visual' lyrics i've ever heard ....and they're from Yorkshire? It's a scandal!"
    • 7. "Miracle Drug" by U2: "Something about this song seems to slip through the net and, no matter how many times i play it, it never fails to "get me"."
    • 8. "Ball and Biscuit" by The White Stripes: "When i first heard this i was smitten, it's totally "cheeky" and it made me think Jack White was the new Jimi Hendrix."
    • 9. "Maps" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs: "Someone once said that Patsy Cline could make you cry out of one eye whilst winking out of the other, i think the same thing applies to Karen O!"
    • 12. "All That Jazz" by Echo & The Bunnymen: "Will Sergeant plays guitar like no one else, always angular, always experimental, this song is the very essence of "menacing"!"

    • 1. "The First Word Is the Hardest" by Four Day Hombre: "Another great new band...only these aren't even really signed yet. You'll have to check out the my space account. I saw them play in front of 50 people and the gig was incredible. they are going to be supporting us on our upcoming uk tour. If you are a record company take note.....we've had some big bands support us in the past."
    • 2. "Weekends and Bleak Days" by The Young Knives: "Hot Summer hot summer. It may have been for about a day. But with tracks like this it doesn't matter really does it."
    • 6. "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys: "A lot of people will tell you that if a song cant be played stripped down on an acoustic guitar it's not a proper song. I always thought that notion was a bit worthy to me. Songs can come from anywhere a drum machine is no less inspiring in the right hands than a piano. I always ask the luddites to play me god only knows on an acoustic guitar. They never can. I saw brian Wilson play this at the Royal Festival Hall a while back and although he's older and frailer now it was stil"
