Family Halloween

Halloween should be a good time for everyone, so we made sure our Family Halloween tunes were not just appropriate for your mini-monsters and wee witches but pleasing to the parental ear as well. Which means that, alongside freaky-fun story-songs like the Sippy Cups' "The Day After Halloween" or Sue Schnitzer's sing-along "Boo, Cackle, Trick or Treat", you've got Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" and the Russian State Symphony Orchestra's high-brow rendition of Mussorgsky's "A Night on Bare Mountain". And when your tiny trick-or-treater is buzzing on a major sweet rush, just pump up "I Want Candy" and all join in to help him dance it off! There can't be too many playlists where John Williams sits cheek by jowl with the Wiggles, but thanks to our Family Halloween Essentials we find the legendary Hollywood movie score composer unleashing the Prisoner of Azkaban's "Werewolf Scene" in the same spooky paddock where the colour-coded kiddie serenaders are channelling their inner pussycats on "The Mooche". Appearing alongside them, by eerie appointment, are "Casper the Friendly Ghost" (as sung by the Hit Co.), the Scary Gang, with their glam rockin' appreciation of the evening "We Love Halloween", and the Countdown Singers, who've brought along a pocketful of "Spiders and Snakes".

Halloween is our favourite stress-free holiday — there are no gifts to buy, no extended-family feasts to prepare, just the timeless fun of dressing up, exploring the neighbourhood, bobbing for apples and surrendering our diets to sweets. It's the perfect time for fantastic family fun, and we've just made it that much simpler with Family Halloween, our long-playing parade of terror-free tunes, from Ray Parker, Jr.'s groovin' movie theme from Ghostbusters to Danny Jacob's "My Undead Mummy and Me" and the boppin' moppet glee of Doctor Noize's "The Monster Dance".
