Many artists from the Stonewall era have come to be known as the parents of Gay Pride. Diana Ross' "I'm Coming Out" and Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" are only a few of the 25 essential anthems that shout from the rooftops one fundamental message: We should never feel ashamed.

Courage and self-sacrifice are key characteristics of those who have taken "the next step". After they came out, artists such as George Michael and Elton John have found that their fan base remained loyal to them and their craft. Next up?
