  • Although it was a pleasure re-recording some of these songs, I want to make it clear that they are a tribute to the artists. As the saying goes, ‘nothing beats the original’. However, I loved every single minute and give my respect to the artists who have inspired me along the way.

    • 1. "My, My, My" by Johnny Gill: "This reminds me of my teens in Australia, when I was getting into soul and most of my friends were into rock. Johnny Gill is, of course, a member of New Edition (Bobby Brown was also a part of this group). My, my, my, what a song!"
    • 2. "If You Were Here Tonight" by Alexander O'Neal: "I was introduced to this only five years ago, but it ended up being one of my favourite love songs. It holds a lot of meaning for me."
    • 3. "The Lady In My Life" by Michael Jackson: "What a song. It doesn’t get better than this."
    • 4. "All the Things (Your Man Won't Do)" by Joe: "Great melody and incredibly sensual lyrics. This is definitely in my top five."
    • 5. "How Deep Is Your Love" by Bee Gees: "Not many songwriters can create music like this. An absolute classic."
    • 6. "Ribbon In the Sky" by Stevie Wonder: "Other than Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder was definitely the biggest inspiration to me. “Ribbon In the Sky” is a classic example of what a musical and lyrical genius this man is. This particular song is one of his best."
    • 7. "Rainy Night in Georgia" by Randy Crawford: "Wow, what a song. Every time I hear it, this song takes me to another place. Her vocals are amazing."
    • 8. "Whatever It Takes" by Anita Baker: "I was introduced to the music of Anita Baker in my late teens and immediately fell in love with her style. I still listen to this song as much today as I did then. It holds a lot of memories for me, and very good ones at that. I remember watching her on the MTV Awards years ago, and she was up for an award alongside Janet Jackson. Janet won, and although I love Janet, I was gutted Anita didn’t win because she deserved more recognition."
    • 9. "Your Love Is King" by Sade: "Who would have thought that this beautiful model would end up becoming a part of so many people’s lives? Sade is the ultimate. Her music is über-cool, chic, sexy and classy. I LOVE this classic."
    • 10. "Overjoyed" by Peter Andre: "I really enjoyed recording this song, and by no means would I ever take on a classic unless it was done in appreciation of such an amazing artist. “Overjoyed” is a masterpiece, and no one can get close to Stevie Wonder’s performance on this. But I loved every minute of recording it."
    • 11. "She's Out of My Life" by Peter Andre: "I have always wanted to cover a MJ song, and this particular one is so simply done and says so much about the artist. He was the greatest entertainer who ever lived, in my opinion."
    • 12. "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Peter Andre: "Although I love George Michael’s version — and that’s the one I’ve always listened to — Bonnie Raitt did the original. This particular song has been covered many times before. I love this song so much, and I hope you like my version; Kevin McPherson and AC Burrell put their magic touch on it."
    • 13. "Lost Without You" by Peter Andre: "My friend AC suggested I record this song by Robin Thicke. I love the song, but it wouldn’t have been a first choice for me. However, AC may have been right, because there’s something very special about “Lost Without You”. A modern classic."
    • 14. "Sign Your Name" by Peter Andre: "When Terence Trent D’Arby first came on the scene, my friends and I thought he was a mix between Michael Jackson and Prince. We miss him in the music world. I grew up on this classic. Loved recording the vocals to this. Hope you like it."

Up yourself or what?

Great Dad, probably a nice person but can't sing for toffee! Go back to the six pack mate. And to put 5 of your own songs in this selection - come on Pete surely you drive inspiration from others than yourself. Good MJ song selection though!

Own songs in the playlist doesn't show personality
