Pitbull

With his sophomore album, El Mariel, named after the infamous Cuban boatlift that relocated almost 125,000 Cubanos to Florida, Pitbull has made perhaps the biggest impact of any Latino in hip-hop since Big Pun. The 2004 debut M.I.A.M.I. (featuring the U.S. hit, "Culo") put Pitbull in the rare category of bilingual rappers who have achieved major success in English-language waters. The Miami-based MC has collaborated with a who's who of hip-hop and reggaeton artists, including crunk rapper Lil Jon — check out the addictively boisterous "Krazy" as well as the earlier "Toma" — Fat Joe and Young Boss. The back end of 2009 delivered Rebelution featuring the Nightcrawlers-sampling "Hotel Room Service," as well as "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)".
