    • 1. "Cold Son" by Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks: "Steve used to refer to this one as his Britpop song, I think. Such a misnomer, as most Britpop was dull, uninspired, retro and derivative. Needless to say, this is anything but: it's playful, intelligent and inspired, just like the rest of the record. It is a killer pop song, though. - Gary Jarman"
    • 2. "The Rhino" by Quasi: "Quasi is essentially an avant-garde/noise band that rocks like billy-o on the one hand and can write perfect pop songs and arrangements on the other. A dangerously awesome, contradictory mixture. - Gary Jarman"
    • 3. "The Day I Was a Horse" by The Vaselines: "The perfect pop band writes the perfect punk song and makes me exceptionally jealous in the process. - Gary Jarman"
    • 4. "Art Land" by Jack Lewis & Jeffrey Lewis: "The Cribs have always been huge supporters of Jeffrey and his brother Jack. It is almost embarrassing how much praise we heap on them, but they never put a foot wrong. This is from their City & Eastern Songs album and manages to sound like Sonic Youth, the Modern Lovers AND Daniel Johnston all at once. Just as ace as that sounds. - Gary Jarman"
    • 5. "Carry On Living" by Comet Gain: "Northern Soul, Motown, American underground, poetry and feedback that sounds like whale-song all go into the melting pot for one of the saddest, prettiest songs you will ever hear. - Gary Jarman"
    • 6. "Kid On My Shoulders" by White Rabbits: "These guys opened up for us on a US tour. This song reminds me of some good times and the consistently good shows they did. I really like the stage presence these guys have, like a real gang mentality. - Ross Jarman"
    • 7. "Cath..." by Death Cab for Cutie: "Being a drummer, I really love the drumbeat on this track. That aside, it's a great pop song. - Ross Jarman"
    • 8. "Disco's Revenge (Freemasons Club Mix)" by Gusto: "The Cribs' first-ever tour was with The Sleepy Jackson back in '03. Have been into this band ever since, and this new record didn't disappoint. This is just one of many good songs on the album. - Ross Jarman"
    • 9. "Story of an Artist" by Daniel Johnston: "It can be embarrassing talking about how great Daniel is because it's so obvious, but he is, and I love this song. - Ryan Jarman"
    • 10. "Born to Lose" by Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers: "The '70s could be such crap, and then at the other end you had stuff like this: the ultimate anthem that should not be. - Ryan Jarman"
    • 11. "Theme from Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me" by Angelo Badalamenti: "Obsess much? - Ryan Jarman"
    • 12. "Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-Flat (Tchaikovsky)" by Alberto Fernando Riccardo Semprini: "Those old-school guys really knew how to bring it. The power is immense, the pop sublime. - Ryan Jarman"
    • 13. "Woe Is You and Me" by The Strange Boys: "I saw the first London gig by these guys, and it was like the last few years never happened. I haven't liked a band for a while, so I'm glad; I hope their next record is good. - Ryan Jarman"
