Real people, real stories
What a great podcast. Betty is the friendliest hostess to a rich collection of stories she gathers from people she meets and works with on her travels in her job as a flight attendant. Her ability to select and mix the real life stories she records is finely honed and she balances their themes and contents beautifully as each tale moves between the sad and the happy, the humorous and at times the remarkably poignant. It is entertaining, thought provoking and really quite addictive! The fact that all these stories come out of the airline industry is testament to its size and the way that industry blends cultures together in a very unique environment. But you don't have to be a plane spotter to enjoy this delightfully exceptional slice of humanity presented so respectfully. I highly recommend it.
Lighthearted and fun
I'm always stoked when a new episode of "Betty" appears - it's lighthearted approach is contagious and stories are always funny or moving. It's kind of surreal to listen to the show mid-flight and wonder why all the hosties are smiling so much...
