British Invaders 109: Sapphire & Steel: The Audio Dramas (Part 1) | Sapphire & Steel was a spooky series of "science fiction ghost stories" that ran on ITV in the late 1970s and early 1980s. We covered that in British Invaders Episode 1 (more than four years ago...). In 2005, Big Finish Productions revived Sapphire & Steel as a series of audio dramas. These audio plays mix elements of the original series with some new ideas. The results are very spooky indeed.... This is the first time that we are devoting an entire British Invaders discussion to a non-television spin-off of a British television series. Almost nostalgic
British Invaders is a podcast about British Science Fiction and Fantasy television going back to the mists of time (and space). Brian and Eamonn bring a depth of knowledge and information to shows that perhaps most of us have forgotten or were not even around when originally broadcast. More modern shows are also discussed as well as the industry itself in terms of remakes, audio versions of shows and recreations by fans and more professional bodies. British Invaders is a great listen; if you have any interest in scifi with a British slant then this is the show for you.
Great look at British TV Output Over the Years
A more cerebral look at British sci-fi. A Canadian and a Brit give their views. One of my favourite podcasts. Not to be missed.
In-depth look at classic british SF-TV
A good listen, especially now they've got through some of the biggies and are getting to review some of the more obscure gems from British TV. Not as funny or as caustic as Cadmium2 but loads of info about Brit-SF.
