Cr2 Records Guest Mix 029 - Ant Brooks | Ant Brooks is a prime example of why hard work, dedication and an undeniable talent is key to progressing in EDM scene. Since bursting on to the radar 3 years ago, Ant Brooks made an immediate impact on the global house stage. His debut release ʻShuffleʼ gained immediate support from Pete Tong on the Radio 1 Essential Mix and the follow up ʻUndergroundʼ held number one spot on download engine ʻTrack It Downʼ for 3 solid weeks. For such a fresh face to the scene, it would seem difficult to sustain such an introduction. But, in true reflection to Antʼs consistency as a producer his follow up ʻSizeʼ on CR2 received nationwide radio support, and was later featured on CR2ʼs ʻLive and Direct” compilation. To add to this, Ant Brooks music has also found its way on to further compilations including Steve Angelo's 'Size Matters' and the 'Toolroom Ibiza' album. Since working alongside Diffused Music in 2007, Ant Brooks is one of few break through producers whose relentless consistency has been matched by a sustained level of quality. Michael Woods declared ʻAnt is one of the industries freshest producers, he is going to be a BIG name!ʼ. In a market place that is saturated with talent, one would wonder how Ant has managed to climb head and shoulders above the competition. The answer can be found within the range of music that Ant has released, with productions and remixes spanning across house, progressive house, tech house all the way through to techno genres. And what moulds all of this together – that Ant Brooks signature sound that is evident in every production that leaves his studio, a fact backed up by Toolroom Records ʻAnt showed us with his remix why he is one of the freshest producers in recent times and destined for big thingsʼ. The natural progression from the studio into the club takes us through to the present day, where we see yet another unique side to Ant. Expect nothing less than a finely tuned DJ performance, scattered with original tracks, remixes and re-edits, bringing together the techno-infused house groovyness that defines an Ant Brooks set. Ant Brooks' latest offering 'Ocho' is available now on Cr2 presents Live & Direct mixed by MYNC. http://www.antbrooks.com http://www.facebook.com/djantbrooks http://twitter.com/djantbrooks http://soundcloud.com/antbrooksmusic | 4 4 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Cr2 Records Guest Mix 025 - Tomy DeClerque | A member of the new generation of Slovenian deejays, Tomy De Clerque grew up in an environment full of promising development in the sphere of electronic dance music. In front of his eyes the local scene has been turning into a globally acknowledged style of techno music in the hands of artists such as Umek and Valentino Kanzyani. Performing as a DJ since he turned seventeen Tomy DeClerque soon realised that making his own production was essential if he wanted his carrier to really take off. He hooked up with his friend Zox to form the Tomy or Zox duo, and their hard work paid off as their My Desire single received some favourable feedback in Spain, Russia and Mexico. However, it was the Music Makes Me Happy hit single that caught the attention of top artists being remixed by the likes of Mainframe and ATFC, and released on several prestigious compilations, such as Ministry Of Sound, DJ Awards at Pacha Ibiza and Blanco Y Negro Mix. ‘The greatest satisfaction, though, Tomy says, was when we got set as Essential new tune of the week on Pete Tong’s celebrated Essential selection radio show. After parting ways with Zox, Tomy felt that it was time to take a break from a demanding life of producer and performer, before he went on to start his solo career. Searching for genuine underground sound that could revive the authentic feeling of electronic dance music he experienced in his youth Tomy turned to Valentino Kanzyani’s Jesus Loved You label releasing a much praised I Don’t Know. Driven by his passion for teamwork, a lot of his studio work is done in collaboration with his friend F. Sonik. The duo’s first major success was winning VONYC remix competition with a remix of Valentino Kanzyani’s Nueva York, which is also a part of Carl Cox & friends at Space Ibiza 2008 compilation. As a young player, Tomy DeClerque has accomplished a lot. But he is determined to accomplish even more. ‘You’ll hear a lot about me in the future,’ he promises. | 8 2 11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Cr2 Records Guest Mix 021 - Rhythm Masters | Since his first foray into House music back in 1990, Steve Mac has carved out an enviable career for himself within the very top tier of the world’s DJ’s and producers. Starting out as a scratch DJ at the tender age of 11, Steve’s musical background was rooted in the pioneering sounds of 80’s Hip-Hop when genre defining artists such as Grandmaster Flash and Public Enemy were laying down the blueprint. As part of a local Hip-Hop group in Malta, Steve met his production partner-to-be Rob Chetcuti. The pair took an interest in each other’s ‘formulating talent’ and went on to form the hugely successful production/DJ duo The Rhythm Masters. The formative years of the partnership were spent working tirelessly in the studio whilst absorbing the bountiful supply of creatively rich records that were flowing from the US before setting up their own Disfunktional Recordings label in 1995. The label was mainly a showcase for the pair’s own productions although world renowned artists such as Danny Tenaglia, Junior Sanchez, Paul Woolford, and Giorgio Moroder also contributed over the years to the labels impressive output. 1996 was the year that The Rhythm Masters really hit the big-time through their smash remixes of Todd Terry’s ‘Jumping’ and Jaydee’s ‘Plastic Dreams’. Steve and Rob were widely regarded as being among the decades finest remix teams, an assumption which was cemented in 1997 by them winning the number 1 slot in Music Week’s remixers of the year. A quick flick through their discography reveals a staggeringly high number of quality productions, and remixes for the likes of Todd Terry, Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Byron Stingly and Candi Staton. The boys were unsurprisingly named among Music Week’s top 5 remixers in the world at the end of the nineties, testament indeed to their hard work and commitment to producing only the finest re-rubs. Naturally the duo found themselves as highly in-demand DJ’s, playing all over the globe and at clubs such as Cream, Ministry of Sound and Back 2 Basics back in the UK. Since Rhythm Masters decided to go their separate ways to pursue solo projects in 2002 Steve has since had huge underground and mainstream success with tracks such as ‘Circus Parade’, ‘Da Canto’ and the ubiquitous ‘Lovin’ You More (That Big Track)’ for Cr2. In addition Steve has collaborated alongside dance music luminaries such as Nic Fanciulli, and Pete Tong. The other side to the Steve Mac sound is apparent through his numerous remixes for mainstream artists; Jamiroquai, Charlotte Church and Simply Red are just a few of the globally recognised stars that have come in for the unique Steve Mac remix treatment. As a performer Steve’s DJ sets are pure energy. He regularly makes use of 3 decks, CDjs, FX and samplers that all contribute to the seamless and funk-fuelled sound for which he is famed. | 20 12 10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Cr2 Records Guest Mix 016 - NDKj | DJ and producer NDKj aka Andrea Quirico was born in 1981 in Novara (Italy). He became fascinated with electronical music - especially techno - at a young age and soon started djing himself. At that time his sound was inspired by some of the big names in techno scenes who were known for playing hard but groovy techno. Cr2 Records Guest Mix 011 - Carlo Toma | At 19 years old Carlo Toma is on the cusp of something rather special and rare in dance music. Being able to make exquisite house music that appeals as much to the underground legends like Luciano & Steve Lawler as it does the festival headliners like Pete Tong & Fatboy Slim. In this day and age it is a very rare quality to be able to straddle the commercial market whilst maintaining artistic credibility with the underground. Yet Carlo seems to be doing it with ease, and as a result looks set to blow up in 2010 with a string of high profile releases and remixes that will catapult his name into every djs set you will hear over the summer of 2010. Italian born and raised, Carlo’s love affair with house music started at the tender age of 14, when he got his first set of decks. By the age of 16 he was playing across Italy in clubs such as Selento in Guendalina, Casablanca & Living Club. It was these experiences, and inspiration of artists such as Michel Clies, Reboot, SIS & Sneak, that lead to his progression into the world of production. After initial releases with Italian labels such as the highly acclaimed Express Yourself Records & Plusbeat Records. However it wasn’t until early 2010, when his track ‘Back To Panorama’s Love’ found its way into the hands of one Mr Steve Lawler that things really kicked off for him. Steve promptly signed the track to his outstanding VIVa MUSiC imprint, and the track soon became championed by the likes of Pete Tong, Riva Starr & Tim Green. Set for release in Summer 2010 this track will usher in a new era for Carlo and announce his arrival on the big stage! More music has followed from Carlo who is as prolific in the studio as he is behind the decks. With more forthcoming releases on Cr2 & Quanticman Records, as well as high profile remixes for Roisin Murphy, Riva Starr & MYNC Project, its not hard to see why the whispers of Carlo being a new star of house music should most certainly be believed. | 18 6 10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Cr2 Records Guest Mix 006 - Sidney Samson | Despite his recent rise to fame, Sidney is certainly no newcomer to the scene. His DJ career began at the young age of 14 after seeing a few DMC mix championships, and from that point onwards his path was set. Originally playing R’n’B and Hip Hop jams, he soon switched his style to house music in 1999 and quickly became resident DJ at club night ‘Exxellent’ which was held at one of Holland’s biggest clubs - The Matrixx. Sidney first started turning heads with his hit ‘It’s all funked up!’ signed to Spinnin Records in 2003. Over the next few years he developed his skill for production putting out a string of club hits. In 2007 he decided to start a new record label named Samsobeats following the success of a few collaborations with Gregor Salto. They’ve since been releasing new tracks from the hottest new DJ’s and producers around. Sidney’s sound has developed in line with the Dutch movement, which has been taking place over the past few years. Involved with fellow Dutch superstar Chuckie the Dirty Dutch collective have already taken over Holland and there is no doubt that 2010 is the year when this sound truly goes global. If ‘Riverside’ is without doubt the track which has significantly put Sidney Samson on the map and his name on the lips of all dance fanatics, then ‘Shut Up & Let It Go’ is the follow up that will confirm Sidney as one of the bright new stars of the International dance scene for 2010, much the same way as fellow Dutchman Fedde Le Grand’s breakthrough in 2006 with his hit ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’. ‘Shut Up and Let it Go’ aptly follows its predecessor, sampling the Dutch basslines, which are set to be huge for 2010 this is certainly a club smash in the making. With Lady Bee reigning in the vocals and Sidney providing what he does best you can’t help but yet again be mesmerized by the hook. | 23 5 10 | Free | View In iTunes |

Jacobs rising status caught the eye of Cr2 Records who were quick to snap him up describing the signing as one of the mist exciting signings Cr2 has ever made…. Jacob describes his sound as a fusion of inspired Electro/Pop songs through to heavier Dubstep big bassline club tracks. Gaining inspiration from a wide range of genres and artists and being accomplished in virtually every instrument known to man as well as having a distinctive, incredible vocal talent, Jacob covers all his favoured genres whilst adding his own disctinctive twist. He goes on to say “ I have so many influences…I love the old stuff my Dad used to play me like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin…bands such as The Rifles, The Clash, Paul Weller/The Jam really taught me how to write more organic songs, I played the guitar for ages writing songs like them, then dance producers like The Prodigy, Delerium and Daft Punk lead me to produce with my love of fat basslines leading me down the Dubstep and Electro route.” Away from the studio Jacob’s technical wizardry extends to performing live using Abbleton and his Mac Book also being able to do an impromptu PA performance singing the vocals over his own tracks…his debut London gig saw him perform aat Nottinghill Carnival on the Cr2 stage next up its to Ministry of Sound for Cr2 @ The Gallery in June 2010. ..
